We highly value your privacy and are providing this Policy to inform you of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use and disclosure of information and data.  We comply with the applicable laws and regulations for the protection of your personal data and for data security in offering all picalike services as well as operating our website at and social media offerings.

1. How we collect information

If you browse our website, without using any registration, personal data may be affected via cookies, social media plug-ins, etc. – please see separate article below. If you connect your own social media profile with any picalike social media account, your personal details, such as your social media user name and/or profile picture, etc. will likewise be transmitted to us.

We also collect the information that you voluntarily provide to become a registered User of any of our Services, and when you use aspects of our Service (e.g., entering an email address on a form to send an email).

These types of personal data are generally stored by us. The persons concerned are in particular owners, officials and employees of client companies and persons, who access our online offers. We collect and store personal data only after consent of the affected people or if and when allowed by the Federal German Data Protection Act or other applicable laws. Insofar as we provide the technical prerequisites to our customers/users by means of our services or conduct data processing for their part, we are considered to be “order data processors” within the definition of § 11 Federal German Data Protection Act. 2. What kind of information we collect and how we use it

We apply process and use the personal data, which we have collected primarily for creating and implementing contractual relationships, to perform the activities instigated by you (demos, newsletter etc.) and to respond to queries or providing you access to particular information or offers.

If consent is required according to applicable legal provisions (e.g. promotional purposes), you will be sent such data only if you have given your informed consent. Consent will usually be requested and granted electronically; we log the declaration of consent and you may access the content of the declaration of consent at any time via our website. During each procedure the user’s IP address is collected and stored, in order to ensure the availability of the Service and the data and information security or our own systems.

Whenever you access our website or online offers information is occasionally collected automatically, which cannot be attributed to an identified or identifiable person (e.g. Internet browser and operating system used; domain name of the website, from which you have come; frequency of visits; average time spent on the site; pages accessed). We use this information to assess the effectiveness of our website is and to improve its content.

3. Disclosure of Information

Personal information may be disclosed to selected partners for advertising or market research purposes according to previous section 2 (i.e. you have agreed to such use). Hosting and/or ISPs, in particular the operators of our proprietary data centers may have access to personal data from our sphere of responsibility.

Like many online services, picalike uses “cookies” on our sites to collect information. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer or mobile device’s hard disk. We care about the security of your information. We use commercially reasonable safeguards to technically and organizationally preserve the integrity and security of information collected and maintained.  We regularly check our system and firewalls for weak points and attacks and our data data center is well protected against access at the system level, in order to protect your data stored on our servers. However, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to us or guarantee that information on the Service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by unauthorized persons. You are responsible for protecting your registration data (in particular your user name and password).

Our sites contains links to other third-party websites and online services. 7. Social Media

Use of Facebook social plug-ins:

Our website uses social plugins (“plugins”) provided by the social network, operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Irland, respectively Facebook Inc., 1601 S. Use of LinkedIn button

Each time you use your LinkedIn account in order to register on a website or on a third party application, LinkedIn retrieves that infromation. Plug-ins from LinkedIn, such as ‘Recommend on LinkedIn”,  enables LinkedIn to also collect information that the relevant pages have loaded on your Internet browser. If you visit a website with LinkedIn plug-ins and are registered as a LinkedIn member, LinkedIn uses this information to recommend to you content, which are especially relevant to you. LinkedIn thus personalizes their offer using the information provided on the websites of third parties. Use of the Xing Share Button

The “XING Share Button” is used in our online offers. When you access our Internet site a link to XING AG (“XING”) servers is briefly created, which generates the XING Share Button functions (in particular the calculation and display of the reading).
